While writing the poems found in Mornings
in the Park, Diane Neidhardt lived at the Mayfair
Renaissance, an Atlanta midtown high-rise, less
than a block from Piedmont Park.
After returning to
North Carolina, one of several previous home locations in a
rather nomadic lifestyle, Diane and her husband, Tom, journeyed up
the West Coast. This trip inspired both a blog,
"Meanderings", and a book, "Travels
Together".
In a reverse retirement
migration Diane and Tom re-settled in snow country of upstate
New York near their three adult children, James,
Rebecca, and Robinson, and two grandchildren, Bryce and
Elspeth.
Diane has written poetry on a wide range of
topics . Her poetry has been published in several
anthologies,
including Rhyme and Reason, Throwing Stardust, Dreams Gone By, and
A Celebration
of Motherhood. She has self published two volumes of
poetry, Mornings in the Park" and
"Traveling
Together" and a children's book "Darren Drops By",
illustrated by her son James.
“I am an incurable people-watcher, and I
love to invent background stories and scenarios about the various people and events
I encounter each day. I enjoy setting down these observations in
poetry, although I do add a more
than liberal dose of
imagination and exaggeration at times."
